BACKGROUND

HISTORY: LINK

PERSONALITY:

  • What impression does your character give when meeting someone for the first time? How does the first impression differ from your character’s true nature?

  • Primarily, Alucard prefers to give the impression that he is aloof, otherworldly, detached, and also older than he really is. While it is truly he is intelligent and a powerful dhampir, it is equally true that really underneath the presentation he's a young man who is struggling to fight against his intense desire to have companionship and processing the death of his parents. It's simple to say that he wants to be loved -- after all, who doesn't -- but it is the truth, especially since he lacks any real friendships outside of his companions, Sypha and Trevor, who left him behind to travel the world. This, too, he gave off the presentation of being Totally Fine With It, but as it turns out he was Not Fine With It and became a sobbing mess and made sad little dolls based off of his friends.

Yeah, he doesn't deal with being alone well at all, to be honest.

  • What are some of your character's regrets? How is your character impacted by them?

  • There are three major regrets in Alucard's life. The first one is the execution of his human mother, Lisa. Although truly there was very little he could do to save her or prevent her death, it is something that still haunts him considering how extremely dear she was to him and his father alike. The second and most painful regret is the fact that Alucard had to not only fight his vampire father, Dracula, but he had been the one to stake the man himself in his own childhood bedroom. The mental image of his withering father trying to reach for him before being violently beheaded and set aflame powerfully haunts him.

Now, of course, on the outside, Alucard doesn't let others be completely aware of how this haunts him, but internally he still mourns and misses his father, even if Dracula had every intent of slaughtering all of mankind in the name of his murdered wife.

The third and final main regret addresses an unfortunate interaction he'd had with two humans, Sumi and Taka. The two, in the midst of bedding Alucard, had attempting to kill him. Both heartbroken and horribly betrayed, Alucard took it as well as any vampire would: he proceeded to impale the two bodies on stakes outside of his castle, determined to live alone, even if it is something he also despises.

  • What are your character’s fears? How do they hinder or challenge your character?

  • Ultimately, Alucard doesn't actually want to be alone. This is pretty contradictory of his behavior at the end of season 3 of the main series, considering the aforementioned putting people on sticks, but it's a reaction out of being harmed when he thought he finally found loving companionship. He still deeply desires this, but taking the equation out himself is how he answers the matter. In addition, it can be said that he does not take to Sypha and Trevor leaving at the end of season 2 well at all on account of the very fresh pain of having to just commit patricide. This isn't exactly something he holds against them, but he is dependent somewhat on having companions to some capacity, but is afraid to let anyone in in case they suddenly leave his life again.

So! Can't get hurt if you lash out and decide to enforce solitude onto yourself, that's the depression logic! It's going very well (it's not) and he's been doing almost nothing but drinking wine since staking bodies as his lawn ornaments.

    POWERS

    SKILLS/ABILITIES:
    - Enhanced Strength. Alucard is stronger than the common human, enough that he can easily wield a ridiculously long sword one-handed against a skilled hunter's full strength. He can't arm wrestle Clark Kent anytime soon, but he'd have a shot at beating someone's mechanical arm.

    - Enhanced Senses. Alucard has a keen sense of sight and hearing, but more importantly he can smell very easily, down to the point that he can sniff out blood in people and generally their health. The biggest takeaway from this is that he smell the blood real goodlike.

    - Speed. Alucard moves ridiculously fast. He'll phase faster than a typical human, but he can't outrun Barry Allen.

    - Durability. A knee to the groin does nothing to Alucard. Also, he's just pretty durable all around and can take quite a beating.

    - Shapeshifting. Alucard is able to shapeshift into a wolf and a bat respectively. Sometimes MANY bats.

    - Immortality. Alucard does not age, but he can be killed under the right circumstances.

    - Self-Healing and Recovery. Most injuries can be recovered fairly quickly in Alucard's case in a matter of seconds, unless he's dealt a violent blow from someone significantly more powerful than him, such as his own father. That would then require a longer period of time and plenty of rest.

    - Vampirism. It should go without saying, but as the son of a vampire, Alucard does drink blood, primarily from humans.

    - Sword. If his blade is nearby, Alucard can summon it to his person, and is also capable of enchanting it. The sword appears to be impossible to break. The sword will not be present when Alucard joins at this present time.

    - Float. Alucard is capable of floating a few feet off the ground, but the flight is a bit limited.

    - Not With Those Nails Girl. Vampires seem to inherently have stupidly long sharp nails. Alucard can extend his at will and retract them, treating them as claws.

NERFING: This leaves Alucard as being just above probably a very healthy Olympic athlete in terms of his physical abilities. Otherwise he can float like 5 inches off of the floor, and if he turns into a bat or a wolf then he's stuck in that form for about an hour as his transformation abilities "cool down" before he can turn back.

WEAKNESSES: While Alucard doesn't have all weaknesses from a vampire, presumably things like holy water and enchanted silver seem to still harm him, as well as a stake through the heart (but c'mon that'd kill most people anyway).
