I can understand your fear, then. To be afraid of becoming anything like the man you hate most. Even if he's gone. For me, I miss my father. I miss the man he was before he went completely mad. And I worry becoming like him, if something were to happen to people I care for as much as he cared for Mother.

For awhile, I wanted to be a scientist like him, or a doctor like Mother. I may have said that once already. I do have an interest in those things, but I always felt more passionate about art. He would encourage it, you know. And I painted him a picture of Mother.
That I could capture a memory, or bring forth my imagination. The stroke of a brush is immensely soothing. Or to try different techniques around the world. Sculpting, charcoal, ink. There are so many ways.
But you're right. It's just makes sense for me. More than most things.
