[Alucard ducks in quickly, stealing a kiss for himself before he moves away to the kitchen.
He does arrange a straightforward meal to share: he slices a tomato, arranging it with cheese and a small dish of hummus, along with some bread he's also sliced. A loaf he had baked this morning, more to keep himself busy than anything else.
Eating is a nice luxury, after all, even if not needed.]
[It's...nice. It's just nice, the security of Alucard's four walls and the two of them inside, staying up late and spending normal, unbiased, voluntary time together.
Or maybe he just likes you.
As Alucard heads into the kitchen, Jotaro spares Trevor the Raccoon a brief glance before crossing over to the couch and starting to rearrange it into a nice open space sized for the two reasonably large people they are, with pillows on either side and a blanket at the ready to pull over their knees. He can hear the sounds of rustling from the kitchen, knife hitting a cutting board, cupboard doors opening and closing.
You’re keeping him nice and fed, after all.
He treks back to his discarded coat, digging in the pocket until he finds the movie he'd picked up while he was out. No monsters, not this time. It's just action and adventure with a subplot of romance. Just human.]
Hey, Adrian.
[Does he let you have a name?]
...I was going to pick up some popcorn, but I forgot. Sorry.
I haven't had popcorn before, but I've seen it in movies and shows. Maybe next time, Jojo.
[There's a pause, and he tilts his head as he looks at Jotaro. He does feel like there's something, but again he refrains from pushing. Maybe it can wait until they're seated and settled.
The tray is set down, and he shoos Trevor the Raccoon away the moment he shows any interest.] Greedy little beast. Go on, you have your own.
[Adrian sits, making sure there's room for Jotaro.]
[He gets the movie rolling before settling in next to Adrian, sort of lazily draping his arm around him mostly for the sake of comfort while, one-handed, he catches an end of the blanket and tosses it until it lands across both their knees.
On the screen, a boy in some sort of scout uniform begins to nose around an archeological digsite, but despite looking in that direction, Jotaro barely even seems to be watching it.]
...Nice shirt, by the way.
[Is he making small talk? Yeah, that's a dead giveaway, all right.]
Hey. Are you...happy? You know, that...that you stayed awake?
[The arm is nice and warm, and he leans into Jotaro slightly, content. He smiles to himself, appreciating how cozy it is, along with the blanket.]
Thank you. Some bastard left it here, figured I'd make use of it.
[The question gives him a moment to consider, then he looks at Jotaro.]
Of course. If I'd just... gone to sleep, I wouldn't know you as I do now. We wouldn't be together. I'd never see you smile or laugh, or the joy in Star's face. There would be so many experiences I'd have missed out on.
[It's all right there. The proof is right there. Adrian leans naturally into him, and the things he considers are sweet things, soft things. Not the sort of things that someone who thought he was above humanity would say.
It shouldn't bother him as much as it does, thinking about that clearly false perception of Adrian — but it does.]
It's nothing. I've just been thinking.
[Except. No, that's not enough.]
...It's something Trevor said. Human Trevor. From back when we met.
[Adrian, he reminds himself bitterly, remembers every single bad thing that anyone has ever said about him. Those things haunt him. They don't go away. They make him doubt and second-guess and experience shame.
Even secondhand, he doesn't want to be a source of that. He doesn't want his name connected with one of those memories, that someday Adrian will get that melancholy look on his face and think I heard Jotaro say once.]
...I don't think he sees you when he looks at you. Pisses me off when people do that.
Oh? Did he say what an arrogant vampire I am? Something along those lines.
[Adrian shrugs a little.]
Trevor Belmont is a man full of flaws, who has grown up hated and despised by his own people. Misery was the only thing he really knew well for a time. He stumbles over his words when he tries better, then blurts out hateful things when he's feeling vitriolic.
The first thing he said after my father was nothing but dust was for me to not get weepy about it. Then, the following morning, he told me not to go to sleep indefinitely and gave me the Belmont hold as a gift.
I'm not saying to like him or even put up with him. Simply he is someone who I think doesn't always know how to stop hurting.
He made it sound like you're keeping me as a pet. But that's not what bothered me.
[He tugs Adrian a little closer, one arm remaining around him while the other sneaks under the blanket, nudging the hem of Adrian's shirt up just enough to slide beneath and rest against his stomach.]
You went through so much shit. You lost everything. And you're not —
[He pauses, hung up on his own words for a minute.]
It's hard enough feeling different without some asshole making a thing out of it. And he was making a thing out of it. So I hit him.
[The warm hand on his stomach is nice, and he lets Jotaro touch him as he'd like. It's nice-- good to be wanted.]
Of course you hit him. [There's no judgment in his voice whatsoever.] He was saying things that upset you and you can be quite protective of those you care about. Frankly, I was more surprised by the notion that you two didn't fight at first.
[Adrian lays his head onto Jotaro's chest for a moment, closing his eyes and listening to his heartbeat. It's comforting to him, the beat of his life.]
Do you know what's interesting? I've actually known you for much longer than I've known him or Sypha. We knew each other for a few days at best.
You've had more time to know me, Jojo. So you do truly know me better than him.
[He's not sure why he'd instinctively assumed it would've been longer. Maybe because he can't help but analogize Alucard's quest to stop his father with his own crusade to kill Dio. Equating the two works in some respects, but not in others — turns out, time is the latter.]
You should've seen the way he acted after I hit him. Anybody who can take a punch like that...if he weren't such an asshole, I'd probably really like him.
[Checking first to make sure nothing's going to overturn if he moves them, Jotaro slowly shifts their positions — leaning back until he's lying on his back along the length of the couch, and pulling Adrian with him to lie on top of him, head still near his heart.]
But not if he's going to say shit like that about you.
[The shift in position is actually quite nice. Adrian tugs the blanket around his shoulders so that it covers both of them, then he settles his weight, smiling against Jotaro's chest.]
He has impressive recovery, I'll give him that. When we first met, I instigated a fight to see if he was worth being a hunter. Even after I struck him in the face, he was ready to attempt to stake me.
[He slides an arm around Jotaro's midsection.]
It's all right. ...I've said worse about him and his family. In any case, as I said, you don't have to like him or even deal with him. I wouldn't expect you to.
[There. This, this right here, is what he'd been hoping for all along when he'd first sought to pay Adrian a visit tonight. The movie on for little more than noise and pretense, while he gets to sprawl out on a couch and hold Adrian snug in his arms.
It's pleasantly warm beneath the blanket, with the body heat being shared. Adrian is heavy, but not uncomfortably so. This is...
He's happy. And he remembers a time, not so long ago, when he was up on a cold roof smoking cigarettes until his clothes stank of smoke, too jittery to sleep and too traumatized to even let his shoulder brush up against the person sitting next to him.
Thinking about that period overlaps with thoughts of Trevor, with how Adrian had described his life before Lunatia, and it doesn't absolve him of the asshole things he did and said, but he thinks he understands at least a little better.]
He knocked me into some turnips.
[HE WILL NOT ADMIT DEFEAT but he will admit to the turnips.]
Anyway. It just made me want to see you, that's all.
Terrible, the two of you. Disturbing the vegetables in your scuffle.
[Adrian lets out a slow sigh, barely even watching the film. He's catching parts, but really his focus is on Jotaro and how they're both arranged. It's nice and comforting. He'd hate to lose it.]
Well, if nothing else, he's good at making you know what kind of company you prefer.
...I'm glad you came. You always remind me of how far we've come.
Either that or he was just pretending he couldn't. Either way he's a bastard, though, you're right about that.
[Smiling, he catches Adrian's lower lip between his own once the kiss ends, keeping him from drawing away for just a little longer.]
The triple moon will be over by then. It'll just be us. And I want to...
[Fuck. Where is the right word? He knows it, but it feels so stupid in his mouth — but. But this is for Adrian. It's not about him. So...so, he'll just have to suck it up, no matter how embarrassing or unlike him it feels.]
I want to make love. [GOD, THAT PHRASE, BURY HIM HERE.] With you. But...I want you to tell me how you want it, if you want that. And I want it to be what you want, so just be selfish this once...okay?
He has no magical inclination. I wouldn't be surprised to know he couldn't perceive Star.
[Patiently, Adrian waits until Jotaro finally reaches the topic. The way he describes it-- making love. Though Jotaro might be embarrassed at saying it, Adrian's attention is captured and he looks at him curiously.
Outside of the moon phases. Just them, as people. Who they are. No Iris making him needy, or Sanguis making Jotaro more territorial.]
I would... like that. Just you and me, no influences.
[Adrian takes in a breath, holds it, then decides on his words.]
I want you to take me. I've wanted that, to feel you. I have thought about the other way around and I want that as well, but... for our first time, that's how I'd like it, I think.
Oh, then I'm absolutely gonna use Star to fuck with him.
[But enough talk of fucking with Belmonts, there is a much more important variety of fucking to be discussed at present.]
I don't think we've ever done it without influences, have we?
[With one hand still linked to Adrian's, he frees the other from under the drape of the blanket, threading his fingers through Adrian's hair and tugging lightly.]
Of course it's all right. I want to know, too...how hot you are inside...
[He grins, crookedly.]
I promise there'll be more to it than just that. But I figured that was one part I shouldn't leave as a surprise. Besides, now you've got something to look forward to all month.
[But yes, enough Belmont talk. There's important Sexy Talk happening right now. The gentle tugs are nice, and he does like it from either Jotaro or his Stand. It-- might be nice if they were also pulled during intimacy too.
It's a thought.
He ducks his head a little when Jotaro mentions how he'll feel inside, but he smiles, almost bashfully.]
I will look forward to it, very much so. Where should we...? I could have someone look after Trevor if you want it here.
I was thinking my place, just so I can, uh...decorate. It'd be more familiar, too — I was kinda thinking about getting one of those fancy hotel rooms up on level one, but then I thought...
[His cheeks heat, just a fraction, but it's not because he's embarrassed.]
I thought you might be happier somewhere that smelled familiar. I want you to be able to relax.
[Hmm.]
Or, if you want to be here, then let me have your keys for the afternoon, and go out for a couple hours. I can make that work too.
[He lets his eyes fall closed, each murmur fitted into the spaces between kisses, more vulnerable and unguarded behind lowered eyelids, but that's the way that he wants it.]
I'm selfish, too, because that's what I'm getting out of it. I want to give you a perfect night, or as close as I can get it.
