[It's sort of a stupid reversal of roles, that this is supposed to be Adrian's birthday and he's supposed to be the one making everything perfect for him, yet here he is getting emotional and clingy at the most unexpected of times. Still, any guilt he might've felt over that quickly goes by the wayside as he eases himself down and into Adrian's hold, making only the slightest of faces at the wet spend that winds up trapped between their bellies when he does.
Maybe it's okay. Maybe it's fine if he just sort of lies down with Adrian and tucks against him, soaking in the feeling of the hand running through his hair and the kisses pressed gently against his face. As the afterglow sets in, he feels vulnerable and unguarded, yet safe as he counts the rise and fall of his own breaths and the steadily slowing beat of his heart.
If he had the energy left to be a bastard, he'd offer a teasing happy birthday. But since this was apparently just what the doctor ordered, his bastarditis seems to be in check for once, and he settles for just being warm and genuine instead.]
So...I did good, huh?
[That too might've come off as cocky, except that he's so sleepy-sated that it comes out an honest, almost hopeful question.]
[With Jotaro lying down, Adrian tucks an arm around him snugly, uncaring that they're a mess together. That's part of the experience as far as he's concerned. Adrian nuzzles against Jotaro's cheek, down to his throat, listening to how his heart eases up and slows. It's a lovely song, a tale of Jotaro being alive.
The question would usually invoke a bark of a laugh at the sheer arrogance, but instead he can hear the tone of voice setting what Jotaro is truly asking. Adrian smiles warmly against him.]
Incredibly.
[Adrian pulls back enough to gaze into Jotaro's green eyes.]
I truly never thought I would have another birthday, much less one that would give me so much to enjoy. The gifts you've given alone would have been enough, but I finally share this moment with you is something I've wished for.
yare yare you mean the chaos emeralds?
