Maybe your coffin isn't very good? I personally find them quite comfortable.

I suppose . . . width and depth, to begin with. I know I don't need to breathe, but the habits of thirty-odd years die hard, and I keep thinking I'm suffocating. That, and comfort; it's very stiff here, and I miss having pillows. And sheets. And a comforter.

If you'd be amenable, I'd like to help you. I might as well learn for myself how to build a coffin.

A proper coffin, at least when I've had them, should be thoroughly padded at least. I've never really needed much space myself, but there's no reason we can't make changes.

It's not horribly complicated. Usually I'd carve mine out of stone, but it seems like wood is the most common.

It's still above and beyond.

Did you sleep in a coffin as a child?

Only in my early infant days, just to be sure I wasn't too sensitive to the sun. I can still use a normal bed personally, but I know that's different for some.

Actually, I haven't used mine at all. The one I made, I gave to Alucard. I hadn't gotten to really replacing it yet.

You'd be surprised at what people won't try. They'll just do the same thing over and over because it's what they've always done.

It had better. I don't mind the blood, but crawling into a coffin every morning is a level of macabre I dislike.

And it's rather inconvenient, on a more personal note. You can't enjoy a partner in a coffin.
