[What a nice sound that is, a key turning in the lock and he doesn't even have to get up and fuck with the door. If he were a wolf right now, his tail probably would've wagged and thumped at the sound of it, and he can't really decide if that would've been better or worse.
As it is, he's lying down on the couch when Adrian arrives, one leg dangling off the far armrest and the other foot on the carpeted floor, hat discarded for once so that it doesn't get caught between the pillow and his sleek curving horns.]
Hot.
[That's not a very Sanguis thing to say, which is probably intentional. It's also true, though; his scales are warm to the touch instead of cool, scattered across his skin.]
[He shuts the door behind him before he's approaching, bag left by the couch before he's settling onto the couch by Jotaro, reaching out to touch the scales on his skin.]
Mm. Very hot.
I could just nap on you, really. [Adrian chuckles, leaning in to steal a light kiss.]
[Exothermic, his science brain automatically supplies, except that then he's busy being kissed and correcting himself doesn't seem all that important anymore.]
Here I thought I was the one who'd be getting spoiled today, but maybe I was wrong.
Half-vampire, half-lizard, huh. That's some combination.
[SAYS THE GUY WHO IS AN ACTUAL PART DRAGON RIGHT NOW but that's not the point, the point is that something inside him jumped and sparked like a firework when the words leash you fell from Adrian's lips, and suddenly he's very, very interested in seeing where this might go.
His tail even thumps a little, even though he's not canine in the slightest right now.]
[The tail thumping easily gets his attention, and he smiles sharp enough to show his fangs. Leaning in, he lightly nips at Jotaro's throat before turning away to grab the bag, reaching inside.]
Perhaps. But there are times that I think you could stand to learn how to behave when I want you to.
[There's a pause, then a considerate look at Jotaro.]
...It's all right if I put it on you. Yes? [As if everything that's happened, he desperately is in need of his affirmation and consent.]
[There really is nothing in the world quite like the sight of Adrian's fangs, when it comes to things that can get him going at the drop of a hat. He lets out a soft groan, lifting his chin to make his throat easier to get to, and grumbles audibly when all the reward he gets for his trouble is a nip.
The truth is...there's something about the prospect of this game that's just thrilling. Not just the chance to act out, but the idea of Adrian feeling comfortable enough to put him in his place. What a change it would be, from the Adrian who was so terrified even to say the words I want, who wouldn't ask for anything except what he was given and nothing more.
He wants to see it. He wants to see Adrian take for a change. And he wants to see what that means for him, to fight and lose and...
And nothing bad happens, even though he lost.
Without even realizing it, there are goosebumps standing up on the parts of his body that are still skin instead of scale, and he licks his lips when Adrian turns back to look at him, his breath catching in his throat.]
Yeah. Yeah, it's all right.
[He bites his lip again.]
If I hate it, we can stop, yeah? We can just...stop.
...If Star comes out? Then I won't even have to think about it. He'll just know. And...it'd be cheating, anyway, to use him, so.
[That should work, shouldn't it? It's just like protecting him, sort of, and that's what Star does best. And if he doesn't need protection, then Star has no reason to come out. So it should be fine, shouldn't it?]
[At first, he just blurts the words out, half-breathless and a little flustered. His scales warm again, as a touch of embarrassment washes over him — but then, almost tentatively, he discards bashfulness for something more sulky, letting his expression settle into a broody pout that almost manages to achieve petulance.]
I shouldn't have to share you. You're mine.
[It comes so easily, he finds, with the dragon's influence guiding him, and he manages a slight nod and a breathy ready without quite losing the act.]
[The admission makes him quiet for a moment, then he traces his palm over the warm scales. Delightful, actually.
Adrian smiles at him, sharp and more confident, especially now that he's been given permission.]
Maybe so. But, you... you're also mine.
[Out from the bag is a wide leather collar, gently lined on the inside with microfiber cloth to help keep it from biting into tender flesh. Without asking for permission further, he's slipping it around Jotaro's throat, tugging it closed, but not tight enough to keep him from breathing.]
[It occurs to him, as that wide weighty collar emerges from the bag in the grasp of Adrian's clever fingers, that there was no way Adrian could have known that he would be a dragon this Sanguis. He had no way of knowing they would even be doing this during Sanguis. It's just a coincidence that both of those things are true now, which means —
Which means he was thinking of a human neck when he bought it. A slender human neck, a soft bared throat — that was what he envisioned this thick heavy circlet of leather wrapping around, when he bought it. He didn't buy this collar for a dragon or for a wolf. He bought it for a human.
It makes him shiver, in a way that has nothing to do with heat or cold. This beast of a collar, he wanted to see his human wearing it.
He lets out a shuddery breath, swallowing to feel the pressure of his throat against the microfiber. It scares him a little, only — only, in a way he's never been scared before. As though when Adrian clips a leash to this collar and pulls, it's going to drag something out of him that he's never felt before.]
Why this one?
[He raises his chin and lowers it reflexively, still testing the new sensation of having such a wide band of leather below his chin, around his neck.]
[Adrian slowly sinks his knees onto the couch, one next to Jotaro's hip and the other between his legs. He smiles down at him, tracing his fingers over how the collar rests against his throat.]
When I thought about it, I wanted something decorative. Hard, but beautiful. A bit like you.
[And...he likes that, he decides after a touch of glassy-eyed reflection, caught up in the juxtaposition of being able to see Adrian's fingers moving across the leather but unable to feel a bit of it through the width and material of the collar. He likes that it's heavy. It makes it impossible to forget it's there. Impossible to forget who put it there.]
You couldn't yank me around on something made of lace, anyway. Isn't that what this is for?
[He raises his chin again, then lowers it, unaware of how it makes him look just a touch more animal by comparison, like a horse testing its bit.]
Can't bite me through it, either. Isn't that just kind of like punishing yourself?
[No, it's not. It's absolutely a downside for him, the prospect of being cut off from Adrian's teeth. And — fuck, the thought of having to earn the privilege, that's kind of hot, too.]

i learned something new about being a dragon today

flustered

That sounds sort of cute.
I'd probably just lay on top of you.

i like it when you're on top of me

i was thinking about what you said that one time

no subject
I'll just help myself inside, then.
[And he does, with the key he'd been given. Adrian doesn't keep Jotaro waiting long, and he arrives with a small tote bag in hand.]
How is my poor dragon?
no subject

Hot.
[That's not a very Sanguis thing to say, which is probably intentional. It's also true, though; his scales are warm to the touch instead of cool, scattered across his skin.]
Better now that you're here.
no subject
[He shuts the door behind him before he's approaching, bag left by the couch before he's settling onto the couch by Jotaro, reaching out to touch the scales on his skin.]

[He strokes a hand down Jotaro's cheek.]
Maybe I should leash you now. You're already mouthing off.
no subject

Anyway, I thought you liked my smart mouth.
no subject
Perhaps. But there are times that I think you could stand to learn how to behave when I want you to.

[He presses a delicate kiss to Jotaro's cheek, then to his lips, achingly gentle.]
You just have to tell me. All right? Or... give me a signal of some kind.
no subject
[That should work, shouldn't it? It's just like protecting him, sort of, and that's what Star does best. And if he doesn't need protection, then Star has no reason to come out. So it should be fine, shouldn't it?]
How about that. If you don't see Star, I'm okay.

[Lightly, he rubs his forehead against Jotaro's.]
Tell me when you're ready and we can continue.
